I Have Learned That...

I’ve Learned…That
the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I’ve Learned…That
when you’re in love, it shows.

I’ve Learned…That
just one person saying to me, “You’ve made my day!” makes my day.

I’ve Learned…That
having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I’ve Learned…That
being kind is more important than being right.

I’ve Learned…That
you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I’ve Learned…That
I can always pray for someone when I don’t have the strength to help him in some other way.

I’ve Learned…That
no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I’ve Learned…That
sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I’ve Learned…That
simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I’ve Learned…That
life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I’ve Learned…That
we should be glad God doesn’t give us everything we ask for.

I’ve Learned…That
money doesn’t buy class.

I’ve Learned…That
it’s those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I’ve Learned…That
under everyone’s hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I’ve Learned…That
the Lord didn’t do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?

I’ve Learned…That
to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I’ve Learned…That
when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I’ve Learned…That
love, not time, heals all wounds.

I’ve Learned…That
the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I’ve Learned…That
everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I’ve Learned…That
there’s nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies and feeling their breath on your cheeks.

I’ve Learned…That
no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I’ve Learned…That
life is tough, but I’m tougher.

I’ve Learned…That
opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.

I’ve Learned…That
when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I’ve Learned…That
I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her, one more time, before she passed away.

I’ve Learned…That
one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I’ve Learned…That
a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I’ve Learned…That
I can’t choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.

I’ve Learned…That
when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you’re hooked for life.

I’ve Learned…That
everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.

I’ve Learned…That
it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life-threatening situation.

I’ve Learned…That
the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

Other Side of Problem...

A Father was reading a magazine and his little daughter every now and then distracted him. To keep her busy, he tore one page on which was printed the map of the world. He tore it into pieces
and asked her to go to her room and put them together to make the map again.

He was sure she would take the whole day to get it done. But the little one came back within minutes with perfect map.

When he asked how she could do it so quickly, she said, "Oh... Dad, there is a man's face on the other side of the paper. I made the face perfect to get the map right." she ran outside to play leaving the father surprised.

Moral: There is always the other side to whatever we experience in this world. Whenever we come across a challenge or a puzzling situation, look at the other side. We will be surprised to see an easy way to tackle the problem..!!

Failure Is Part Of Learning

Once a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.

He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Moral:
Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?

Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.

Why We Shout In Anger!

Once a saint with his disciples was visiting a village and found some people shouting in anger at each other.

He turned to his disciples smiled and asked.
'Why do people shout in anger shout at each other?'

Disciples thought for a while, one of them said,
'Because we lose our calm, we shout.'

'But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.' asked the saint

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.

Finally the saint explained:
'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance.

What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either nonexistent or very small...'

The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

He looked at his disciples and said.
'So when you argue do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return.'

Balance Your Life

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some 5 balls in the air.
You name them - work, family, health, friends and spirit.

And you are keeping all of these in the air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back.
But the other four balls - family, friends, health and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed or damaged or even shattered.
They will never be the same.

You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.
